• New York will prioritize an aggressive anti-bullying curriculum at all grade levels, as well as self-protection and advocacy education for all ages.
• Mandatory self-defense classes integrated into physical education across all schools and all grades, as young as pre-kindergarten. It is of the utmost importance for all our children to know how to defend themselves.
• Improper child and adult communications awareness — teaching children and young adults how to be aware, identify and report grooming, impropriety, coercion, and exploitation.
• We will focus largely on the real history of this country, its progress, its triumphs, its sins and crimes. Current events, as well as historical accuracy, as well as a multi-cultural perspective will be New York’s new priority. Critical thinking is of dire importance if we are to succeed and move toward a better future as a state and as a nation.
• Universal co-ed sports teams to be available, for all non-overly aggressive sports (softball, basketball, tennis, soccer, etc.), as an option in all schools. Gender isn’t as an important attribute to a person, as character is. We will have a strong focus on inclusion, diversity, respect and acceptance.
